Order Desk’s pricing model is designed to scale with order volume while keeping billing predictable and transparent. In that spirit, it’s important to go into detail about the differences between Order Desk subscriptions, how order counts are calculated, and how billing is handled for businesses who manage multiple stores.

Monthly Plans Based on Order Volume
Every Order Desk subscription includes full access to the Order Desk platform; all integrations, automations, inventory tools, and more are available to anyone on a paid subscription, regardless of their plan level. While functionality remains consistent across tiers, higher subscription levels offer more flexibility and cost efficiency as their business demands grow.
How Are Invoices Calculated?
Order Desk invoices are comprised of two parts: the monthly subscription and order fees.
The monthly subscription price covers the cost of using Order Desk. It is a base fee that will differ based on the features needed for the included store(s).
Order fees are a small fee for each order that is imported into Order Desk. These fees range from 3¢ to 10¢ per order depending on which subscription plan you’re on, and they cover the costs associated with storing the order data securely.
While we’re definitely able to offer a lot, we can’t predict the future (yet…), so order fees will always be retroactive: they are calculated based on the number of orders imported in the month prior. Subscription fees, on the other hand, address the upcoming month and gives you access to all of Order Desk’s features for the next 30 days.
What Counts as an Order?
When an order is created in an Order Desk store, either from carts, marketplaces, and integrations, as well as those created manually, imported via CSV, or copied from another Order Desk store, it counts as one billable order. Even orders that are canceled or refunded at the sales channel count toward the monthly total, as pricing is based on data that is imported rather than the amount of orders fulfilled.
Luckily, many integrations include features that can be used to filter imports so that Order Desk only imports orders that need to be here.
Contracts and Subscription Changes
Order Desk is built to scale with your business. So when the number of imported orders begins to consistently reach a point where a lower subscription level is cost prohibitive, changing plans is as easy as the click of a button.
The same applies to slower seasons. Most businesses aren’t going to hit viral levels of sales every month indefinitely, and some stores do most of their sales during specific seasonal periods. During the off-season or slower periods, subscriptions can be knocked down to less expensive levels until sales pick back up again.
If a subscription is canceled completely, the store data remains intact and the store can be reactivated at a later time by choosing a new plan.
Managing Multiple Stores Under One Billing Account
There are different types of businesses that maintain multiple Order Desk stores.
Some companies opt to keep each store on its own individual subscription, which works great for agencies who are managing stores for multiple clients. In multi-store setups, invoices are grouped and itemized by store to give a clear breakdown of costs per location, but they’re consolidated under a single credit card and invoice for the convenience of the billing administrator who is paying for Order Desk.
Another added benefit of linking multiple stores together is the ability to quickly sync inventory counts and copy rules, templates, and orders across any connected stores.
Free Trial Period
New stores receive a 30-day free trial with full access to all Order Desk features and integrations. No credit card is required to start the trial, and there is no obligation to subscribe after the trial ends. This provides an opportunity to evaluate the platform before making a financial commitment.
Payment Processing and Security
Order Desk never sees card details from your customers. And for our own billing, we rely on a secure payment partner to process payments to ensure that your details are never stored.
We proactively and rigorously audit our security proactively to ensure that all data is kept securely and responsibly.
