Orders can be added to Order Desk in a variety of different ways. This guide will serve as an overview that covers the basic concepts of importing orders into Order Desk. Links to more in-depth tutorials will be included in each section.
Manually Create Orders
If you haven’t made your first sale yet, or you’re not ready to enable any integrations, you can manually create real or test orders to begin exploring how Order Desk works.
To manually create an order, click on Add New Order under the Tools menu in the sidebar:

Next, fill out as many of the order details as you know. You can always edit or add information to an order later, especially if you’re unsure what a field means while you’re creating an order.
You will need to add a Code/SKU for any item added, as well as a shipping name or company name to create the order.
IMPORTANT
💡 Every order item in Order Desk needs to have a unique Code/SKU. If duplicate codes are used, it will affect your order data.
Click the Save New Order button when you’ve added the necessary data.
Via Integrations
Orders can be imported directly into Order Desk via Shopify, Amazon, or through the many other sales channel integrations built into Order Desk.
Open your preferred sales channel integration and look for a setting called Check For New Orders. This is used to set how often Order Desk should check that service for new orders, then import them on a schedule.
Automatic imports can be modified by using filters or rules. Not all integrations support import filters, but for those that do, each integration’s guide includes instructions on how to use them.
Via an Import Template
For fully custom imports, you can upload a CSV file into Order Desk via an import template. Through this feature, you can also email orders directly into the app! For a more in-depth walkthrough on how to create and use import templates, click here.
